How to use Sattu Powder? 

Desi sattu and Soya Sattu can be consumed in various forms, each offering its own unique taste and texture. It can be mixed with water or milk to create a refreshing drink, often enjoyed during hot summer days. Sattu is also used to make nutritious ladoos (sweet balls), parathas (flatbreads), and even as a base for various dishes in some regional cuisines.

Desi sattu and Soya Sattu is a versatile ingredient that can be used to prepare a variety of dishes, both savory and sweet. Here are some popular dishes made from sattu:

Sattu Drink: Sattu is commonly used to make a refreshing and nutritious drink. To prepare it, mix sattu powder with water or milk, and a little sugar or jaggery for sweetness. It’s a perfect thirst-quencher, especially during the hot summer months.

Sattu Paratha: Sattu paratha is a popular North Indian dish. For this, sattu is mixed with spices, such as chopped green chilies, onions, and spices like ajwain, and then stuffed inside wheat flour dough to make flavorful and filling parathas. These parathas are usually roasted with ghee or oil.

Sattu Laddu: Heat 3 tbsp. ghee and fry some cashew nuts and almonds. Add 1 cup of Sattu and roast it for 2-3 minutes on a slow flame. Turn off the heat and let it cool. Once it cools down, add 1/2 cup powdered jaggery or sugar. Mix well and prepare laddu.

Sattu-Mango Smoothie: In a jar add 1/2 cup mango pulp, 1/2 cup curd, 4 tbsp. Sattu, 4 tsp. Honey or sugar, and 2 glasses of chilled water. Blend it until it becomes a smooth mixture. Garnish with some dry fruits and it is ready to serve.

Sattu-Banana Milkshake:  In a jar add 1/2 banana pulp, 1 cup milk, 2 tbsp. Sattu, 2 tsp. Honey or sugar or jaggery. Blend it until it becomes a smooth mixture. Garnish with some dry fruits and it is ready to serve.

Sattu-Dry Fruit Milkshake: In a jar add Handful of soaked dry fruit(Cashew, Almond, Dry dates, Resin, Walnut)  1 cup milk, 2 tbsp. Sattu, 2 tsp. Honey or sugar or jaggery. Blend it until it becomes a smooth mixture. Garnish with some dry fruits and it is ready to serve.

Sattu Halwa: Heat 3 tbsp. ghee in a pan, add 1 cup Sattu and sauté till it turns slightly golden brown. Add 2 cup milk and 1/2 cup sugar or jaggery and stir until it looks like dough. Finally add 2 crushed cardamom and some dry fruits, mix it well and switch off the flame. Garnish with raisins and roasted sesame seeds.
